Hip Surgery

Stay Fit

The hip is the biggest joint in our body - and the one which is loaded the most. Due to the fact that the hip is connecting our upper and lower body, this is no surprise. There are numerous forces acting on our hips all day long.

The hip joint is a big ball joint which is combined out of the hip socket and the femoral head which are both covered with cartilage. Additional there is a sealing ring consisting of fibrous tissue, the so called labrum. The labrum and the cartilage have the function to reduce the friction inside the joint.

Over time they can get damage as well as the hip socket or the femoral head. This can get uncomfortable but in most cases it is repairable.
